Lead the next chapter of an organization built to support Alaska's youngest and most vulnerable.
 
Our client is a statewide nonprofit promoting the social-emotional well-being of infants, young children, and their families, by strengthening those who touch their lives. The Executive Director serves as chief executive and primary public face, guiding the organization through an important period of growth.
This part-time role (not to exceed 80 hours/month) is structured for focused leadership across three priorities: financial sustainability, network engagement, and organizational coordination, with a clear path to full-time as funding and capacity grow.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead fundraising, grant writing, and funder stewardship; identify new revenue streams
  • Represent our client in statewide and national coalitions, tribal partnerships, and IECMH networks
  • Partner with the Board on strategy, governance, and meeting preparation
  • Oversee communications, compliance, budget, and contractor coordination
  • Attend key events including the ICY conference and annual meeting; travel covered by the organization
 
You Need
  • Master's degree in social work, public health, nonprofit management, psychology, counseling, early childhood development, or related field (required; no exceptions)
  • Background in IECMH or closely related field
  • 5+ years nonprofit leadership or senior management
  • Demonstrated success in fund development and grant writing
  • Experience with board governance and rural/tribal community engagement
  • Experience working in or with Alaska communities
  • Strong written and verbal communication; financial management experience
 
Preferred
  • AKAIMH Endorsement® or willingness to pursue
  • Experience with state/federal grant systems or national IECMH networks
  • Track record of membership growth or organizational scaling
 
Compensation
  • $56,000–$65,000 annually (part-time; pro-rated)
  • Hybrid model available: base + supplemental contracts (~$15K–$30K/yr)
  • Full-time range: $85,000–$110,000 if/when transitioned
  • Remote-eligible; flexible schedule with some evenings/weekends
  • Travel to required AKAIMH events covered by the organization
