Palmer, Alaska – Indie rock band Mt. Joy will make their way to the Alaska State Fair next summer to perform in the 2024 Concert Series at the ConocoPhillips Borealis Theatre. The Philadelphia quintet takes the stage Monday, August 19, at 7 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets to the show starting tomorrow, Friday, January 26, at 10 a.m. AKST.
Formed in 2016, Mt. Joy made their mark two years later when their self-titled debut album spun off “Silver Lining.” The song went to No. 1 at AAA radio (Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay) and has more than 120 million Spotify streams to date. Their second album, Rearrange Us, was released in 2018 and drew widespread critical raves. Mt. Joy’s third full-length offering, Orange Blood, came out in June 2022.
Over the past several years, the band has amassed over half a billion streams and earned acclaim from NPR, Billboard, Rolling Stone and more. They have performed at a variety of festivals, including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo, and toured with The Lumineers, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, The Revivalists, and The Head and The Heart. In January Mt. Joy headlined the Out of the Blue Festival with two past sellout Borealis acts, Noah Kahan and CAAMP.
Mt. Joy tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, January 26, on the Fair website, alaskastatefair.org, joining the previously announced concerts featuring Oliver Anthony and Whiskey Myers.
Concert-goers have the option to purchase concert-only tickets or tickets including Fair admission. The included admission is at a discounted price and is good for the day of the concert only. Concert tickets including Fair admission must be purchased by August 15. Details on ticket options and pricing are available on the Fair website. Convenience fees apply to all online concert ticket purchases.
