As Vice President of Human Resources, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the people strategy for a fast-paced, mission-driven government contracting organization. This is a highly visible leadership role where your expertise in federal contracting requirements, compliance standards (FAR, DFARS, SCA), and security clearance protocols will directly influence business success. As a trusted member of the executive leadership team, you’ll partner with business leaders to align HR strategy with organizational goals, ensuring that people remain the foundation of innovation, resilience, and long-term success.
Day to day:
The Vice President of Human Resources will provide strategic leadership to align HR initiatives with business goals and government contracting requirements. This role ensures compliance with federal regulations (SCA, FAR, DFARS, EEO, OFCCP, ITAR, and security clearance protocols) while driving policies that promote integrity and accountability. Key responsibilities include leading talent acquisition and retention strategies for cleared and skilled professionals, fostering employee engagement and performance, and overseeing conflict resolution. The VP HR will design competitive, cost-effective compensation and benefits programs, strengthen leadership at all levels through coaching and development, and guide organizational change in response to evolving contract needs and business growth. In addition, this leader will manage HR operations—including benefits administration, compliance audits, reporting, and HRIS systems—while remaining flexible to take on additional responsibilities that advance the organization’s success.
You need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in government contracting or a regulated industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of government contracting HR requirements, SCA, FAR, DFARS, ITAR, security clearance processes, and compliance mandates.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition and retention for cleared or specialized workforce.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies that support business growth.
  • Experience working with labor unions or managing collective bargaining agreements is a plus.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification required.
