Job Description
Crowley Marine Services, Inc. and the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation are seeking qualified Alaskans to take part in the Alaska Ocean Ranger Program during the summer of 208. Alaska Ocean Rangers are U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Marine Engineers or individuals with a degree in marine saftey and environmental protection or equivalent degree approved by the Alaska DEC, who travel on cruise ships throughout the summer as independent observers monitoring State environmental and marine discharge requirements. Employment Requirements:
  1. Current Designated Duty Engineer (DDE)* of Third Assistant Engineer (3 A/E) Unlimited Horsepower or higher license issued by U.S. Coats Guard or an individual with a degree in marine safety and environmental protection from an accredited maritime educational institution.*
  2. For 3 A/E and higher license holders only, membership in the American Maritime Officers (AMO) Union. *
  3. Clean Criminal Background Check with no offenses that prevent entry into Canada.
  4. Sound physical condition and completion of a post-offer physical examination, including drug test.
  5. Successful completion of the Alaska Ocean Ranger training class.
Crowley Marine Services, Inc is the contract for the Alaska DEC.
