Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Youth Program Request for Grant Applications
The Alaska Workforce Investment Board (AWIB) requests WIOA Youth program grant applications for projects that provide eligible youth ages 14-24 access to education, training, and support services. Services must lead to credential attainment, high school completion, and placement in employment or post-secondary education.
The WIOA Youth program, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, provides the basic infrastructure for state youth workforce development projects in Alaska. The program provides opportunities for both in-school and out-of-school youth with significant barriers to employment and education. The program prioritizes services to out of school youth. Participants must meet specific barriers defined in the WIOA Youth Program Eligibility Policy 07-502.2.
Non-profit or for-profit organizations, school districts, educators, industry trainers, employers, community services agencies, Alaska Native Organizations, and other organizations with the capacity to provide the services identified in the RGA are encouraged to apply. Applications must be entered in the Electronic Grants Administration System (EGrAMS).
The attached RGA includes additional detailed information regarding this solicitation.
