Caring for What Matters: Preserving Clothing, Textiles & Heirlooms
Learn how to protect and preserve the textiles that tell your family’s story.
Join conservator Sarah Owens, founder and owner of Interwoven Fibers, for a free public workshop on caring for historic textiles. Through support from a Museums Alaska and Rasmuson Foundation Collections Management Fund grant, Sarah recently worked with museum staff to improve the care of historic textiles in the museum’s collections.
Now, she’ll share practical preservation tips you can use at home to help extend the life of quilts, clothing, linens, and other treasured textiles.
The program will include live demonstrations and time for questions.
Free and open to the public.
