2020 was a hard year for us all. Amidst a pandemic and subsequent limited supply of bikes, Waste Connections worked hard to adapt and keep our Christmas Promise alive. In 2019 we delivered over 12,227 bicycles and helmets to children across North America. Last year during the pandemic we were able to gift 52 bikes and helmets locally in Anchorage and our hope is to see that number grow. The Anchorage Families & children who received these gifts believe they experienced a miracle – a miracle that you can help make possible.
Waste Connections (locally known as Alaska Waste) seeks support from our employees, vendors, and friends to purchase new bikes at a discounted rate. These bikes are assembled by our employees and volunteers and given back to a Non Profit Charity to distribute. Our mechanics perform safety checks on each bike before they are delivered, and a helmet is provided for each recipient.
This year, marks Alaska Waste’s 3rd anniversary and Waste Connections 21st for the bike build and our communities need this support more than ever. We would like to set a record this year, but we need your help to do this. Please consider contributing to the children in our community. Your generosity is the lifeblood of this program; we wouldn’t be able to do this without your support.
Please join us this year in making that magic happen again by giving to the Bike Build. We are hoping to have all funds collected by November 30, 2021.
