\n\nStraight No Chaser Added to Fair 2024 Concert Line-up

\n\nPalmer\, Alaska \;&ndash\; Don&rsquo\;t miss your one shot to see Straight No Chaser at the Alaska State Fair: The nine-member a cappella group performs Sunday\, August 18\, at 6 p.m. at the Borealis Theatre as part of the 2024 ConocoPhillips Alaska Concert Series. Tickets go on sale to the general public tomorrow\, Friday\, May 17\, at 10 a.m. AKST on the Fair website\, \;alaskastatefair.org.

\n\nIf the phrase &ldquo\;male a cappella group&rdquo\; conjures up an image of students in blue blazers\, ties and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses &hellip\; think again. While Straight No Chaser did form on a university campus\, the group is neither strait-laced nor straight-faced. Returning to Alaska\, the RIAA-certified gold cappella group sets sail this summer on &ldquo\;the Yacht Rock Tour&rdquo\; sparking sing-alongs to classic 80s songs of summer.
\n\n\;
\n\nThe male a cappella group originally came together at Indiana University in the mid-1990s. The group reunited and gained new momentum in 2006 when a member uploaded their 1998 performance of &ldquo\;The 12 Days of Christmas&rdquo\; to YouTube to share some college nostalgia with friends. For the next decade\, the group put a cappella on the map &ndash\; bursting on the scene before pop culture phenoms like &ldquo\;The Sing Off&rdquo\; and &ldquo\;Pitch Perfect.&rdquo\;

\n\nTheir long list of accomplishments to date includes two RIAA Gold-Certified albums\, \;Holiday Spirits \;and \;Christmas Cheers\; over 1.5 million concert tickets sold\; over 1 billion streams on Pandora\; and over 2 million albums sold worldwide. Their latest album\, \;Yacht on the Rocks\, released in June 2023.

\n\nStraight No Chaser tickets go on sale starting at 10 a.m. AKST tomorrow\, Friday\, May 17\, on the Fair website\, \;alaskastatefair.org\, joining the previously announced concerts featuring \;Oliver Anthony\, \;Whiskey Myers\, \;Mt. Joy\, \;Kolohe Kai\, \;Ludacris\, \;Stephen Sanchez\, \;NEEDTOBREATHE\, \;Wynonna Judd\, \;Halestorm \;and \;Theory of a Deadman.

\n\nConcert-goers have the option to purchase concert-only tickets or tickets including Fair admission. The included admission is at a discounted price and is good for the day of the concert only. Concert tickets including Fair admission must be purchased by August 15. Details on ticket options and pricing are available \;on the Fair website.
