DESCRIPTION:"Educate" is a key part of the Alaska State Fair mission\, and as part of this focus area\, the Fair is pleased to award annual scholarships to Alaska high school students.\n\nIn 2021\, the Fair will award a total of $6\,000. Scholarships are open to all Alaska junior and senior high school students who plan to attend college or vocational school.\n\n\n\nThe 2021 scholarships include:\n\n  $2\,500 first-place award\n\n  $1\,500 second-place award\n\n  $1\,000 third-place award\n\n  Two $500 honorable mention awards\n\n\n\nEvery student who submits a completed application will also receive two free admissions to the 2021 Fair\, which is scheduled for August 26   September 6.\n\nApplications should include:\n\n  Cover letter including student's name\, address\, phone and email\, school name and phone\, counselor's name\, and the name of the college or vocational school he or she plans to attend\n\n  Extracurricular resume including interests\, clubs\, community service and/or employment\n\n  One letter of recommendation\n\n A photo that may be used for publicity purposes\n\n  Written essay (1\,000 words or less) or creative project (audio\, video\, performance or visual arts\, business plan\, social media campaign\, arts and crafts\, photography\, etc.).\n\n\n\nPlease note that DVDs will not be accepted.
